>Estate Agents To Open

According to Propertymark and an estate agency news website, restrictions around property viewings and transactions are to be lifted tomorrow (Wednesday 13th May 2020).

At 7.30 pm this evening Estate Agent Today published an article stating that the Housing Secretary Robert Jenrick is expected to announce that the housing market in England can resume. They also went onto say it will mean estate and letting agents can return to work.  This was followed by an email from our regulatory body Propertymark confirming that 'the industry is given the go ahead to return'.

The report is based on a Government document called Health Protection (Coronavirus, Restrictions) Regulations 2020 which came out this evening.

All of what follows will be subject to strict social distancing rules which we will of course strictly adhere to.

It states that people can visit estate or letting agents, developer sales offices or show homes.

They can view residential properties to look for a property to buy or rent.

People can prepare a residential property to move in or move out.

Valuations and property inspections are now ALLOWED. But we appreciate some still may not want them and as such we will continue to offer our virtual valuation service forevermore.

Of course the news has been well received by all at Sacha Scott as we have many people wanting to buy, sell, move and rent new properties.

We’re expecting a surge of property enquiries from people looking to move and we have a waiting list in place already to start calling with the good news.  We’ve been getting prepared for this moment since the lockdown began.  However, to ensure that we don't run before we can walk and contribute to any new wave our office will remain closed to the general public for the time being and, where we can, we will continue to work from home.  This reduces as much as possible non-essential interaction.  Our telephone lines will be open as usual and we will be operating usual working hours.

We have our clean protocol in place, PPE at the ready and we’re itching to help people get moving, all subject to the comfort and safety of our sellers, tenants and landlords as well as any viewers we come into contact with.  Amid all of the excitement we know we have a weight of responsibility above our roles as estate agents and that is to practice social distancing properly, follow the Government’s health and safety guidelines and ultimately look after the wellbeing of our clients, our team and our community.

We’ll be on hand tomorrow to answer any questions you may have.  In the meantime if you have a property to sell or rent please call us to get booked in as our marketing slots are filling up fast with those who have been patiently waiting during lockdown.

This is a huge step towards some normality returning for us all and provides a much needed light at the end of the tunnel, we can only hope that we stay on course to open up fully across all industries asap so people can return to work and normal life as soon as possible.  Please stay safe and rest assured that we will be monitoring this situation carefully at all times and will always act with people's health in mind before our profit.
