People often comment that nothing happens in January and whilst that statement might be true about the number of events on people’s social calendars, it no longer applies to the property market – more and more so January is a month that we all re-set and restart, with moving home ever near the top of our To Do this year list.

Perhaps surprisingly, January actually sees 5 out of the 10 busiest property searching days on the internet, according to Rightmove.

The five dates when new home seeking souls hit the web in huge numbers are:

2nd January

12th January

13th January

21st January

27th January

January is a time when the really serious, no nonsense buyers re-enter the market – especially following a long-awaited election result that seems to have brought confidence back to the market, with the signs clear even this early on.  They want to be first, they want to be out there picking up the stock before the other buyers dust off the January blues.  In short, January is a time when the people most motivated to move get on with it and start looking with real intent, as the above stats shows.

So, things do happen in Banstead and Epsom in the property market in January and you could be missing out by waiting for the common idea that Spring is the best time to launch.  NOW is an ideal time to get your home on the market and get noticed by those record internet numbers throughout January.
